Erin Blakely writes essays, fiction, and theory books on educational policy. Raised in the San Fernando Valley, northwest of LA, she has spent most of her life in one part of California or another, but she’s also lived in Michigan, New York, England, and Denmark. She’s held just about every job there is in a school, from preschool yard duty to university faculty. She currently lives with her high-school boyfriend—now husband of more than 20 years—in Santa Barbara, California, where she can be found most often walking on the ocean bluff trails or browsing the shelves of the nearest bookstore.
